Good Morning! Hope this note finds you well and happy. Another week to use our powers for good - I love Mondays for that reason. Try not to roll your eyes too much.
First things first - on the Music Front :
We (MM&LLK) have a show this Friday - Take 2 of "Blues for the Palace" - at The Saloon in North Beach : 1232 Grant Avenue, SF, CA : $5 cover Be there or be square. 9:30 pm!
We are doing what we can to continue to raise awareness about the need for another people's "Save the Palace of Fine Arts" (people for the palace) movement.
Sharing a song that seems to fit - posting in remembrance of Paul Kantner, RIP. Say "Hello" to my friends and family. Too many to list
Update on the Marin County Supervisor, District 4 race :
It only took a couple of days to get the minimum required amount of signatures for the nomination, though I am still waiting to hear that the signatures have been verified. They had some changes in the computer system at County. I have been told that candidates are not even allowed to officially file formal nomination papers until 2/15/2016, but some have already had a jumpstart in the media.
Speaking of signatures, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that each signature is only valued at .25 - that's 25¢ - toward the filing fee of $1133.60
It doesn't say much about how government views the people.
We have to remind ourselves that "we the people" are the government. It is not supposed to be "us vs. them" - as I have said many times before: we are it. If we do not involve ourselves in local affairs, you can bet that someone else is involved and making plans - and sometimes, they bend the rules so far they break - that million dollar four block concrete sidewalk is a glaring example.
Speaking of politics, here's an interesting article by Bill Moyers :
Have a read and let me know what you think.
That's it for now. Have a great day!
