We received this note from Joeann Edmonds, one of the Mill Valley Arts Commissioners :
Good Morning Mari and Livin' Like Kings,
Last night was so much fun, hope you all had a good time too.
Thank you so much for putting your heart and soul into the concert for Mill Valley.
We appreciate all the energy you guys put into the performance. It was a great event.
The Mill Valley show was our first live show with Mike Rinta on trombone - you have already heard Mike playing with Livin' Like Kings, because he is featured on "Birthday Suit" - the first single that we released in 2010, before I allowed my entire life get sidetracked by our neighborhood fight against the sidewalk. Anyway, now that the concrete slab is a done deal, I can take a step back and let the County deal with the mess they made, and do whatever I can (within reason) to assist the professional creek stewards educate the public on the importance of protecting our local creeks.
Speaking of the creeks - if you are a Marin resident, you may be interested in attending the August 20th Board of Supervisors meeting - click here for more information on that.
As for me, I am grateful for this time to be able to focus on my music again - and I feel especially fortunate to have a group of musicians who "get" what it is I do and are willing to take the time and effort to support me with their talents - and more importantly, their friendship and love.
That's it for now. I wish you peace and love.
"Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony."

Upcoming Shows :
Friday, August 16th, I'm back to sing that National Anthem again for the local baseball team, the San Rafael Pacifics. They are playing the Hawaii Stars (for some reason, I thought they were playing Vallejo - I must have misread the schedule...)
If you want to go, you can get a ticket here - LINK to Pacifics website
Friday - AUGUST 23rd : The Saloon in North Beach
I return to my old neighborhood, North Beach! North Beach will always hold a special place in my heart, and despite what anyone else may think - my feelings for North Beach go way
It has more to do with the fact that one Thursday night in October of '87, I witnessed a very special night of music there, starting at The Saloon. So special, that I went back to the East Coast and packed my bags to move out west, where I made my first friend : Johnny Nitro. Johnny taught me a lot about the blues, may he rest in peace. Or better still, I hope he's jamming with Albert Collins and Bobby Blue Bland.
Downbeat is at 9:30 and the cover is only $5.
Sunday, September 1st : Sausalito ART Festival
We are on at - egads - 11:00 am! I plan on checking out the amazing art after that and am very much looking forward to the Dave Mason set at 4:00 pm.
If you are coming from the city, your best bet is to take the special ferry package.
